FIRST Robotics Competition
Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. High-school student participants call it the "hardest fun you'll ever have."
FIRST Robotics is the Competition is the ultimate sport for the mind. Under strict rules, limited resources and time, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program a industrial sized robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It's as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST World Championship.

Methodology
To engage ages 4 -18 (Pre-K - 12) in robotics and STEAM based learning through in school and after-school activities. Their thrilling, sports-like challenges build up student self-confidence and collaborative problem-solving skills and have a proven and lasting impact on STEAM learning and interest. Participants and alumni gain access to education and career discovery opportunities, connections to exclusive scholarships and employers, and a place in the FIRST community for life.
